Windows Intune simplifies how businesses manage and secure PCs using Windows cloud services and Windows 7—so your computers and users can operate at peak performance. Windows Intune delivers cloud-based management and security capabilities that can be administered through a single Web-based console, enabling your end users and your IT staff to work from virtually anywhere-all that’s required is an Internet connection.

Cloud-based Desktop Management is significant to small-medium business as more of them move away from in-house supported infrastructures.
Windows Intune is meant to be deployed in organizations which account for between twenty-five and five hundred desktops. It allows for malware protection, remote assistance, patch management, security police enforcement and even inventory management. You can even upgrade managed machines to Windows 7 Enterprise, as well as use Microsoft’s Desktop Optimization Pack, which allows for more advanced diagnostic capabilities, improved group police management and App-V and  MED-V virtualization subsystems.
