Just a small pause to reminisce about the future we are heading into….<\/p>\n

During a client-call yesterday we heard the “very many challenges” that data centers have with all of the issues that come with the incredible and never ending demand for application services within enterprises…<\/p>\n

For a while I have mentioned to a few of my friends and colleges of a company that is offering the ability to create complete infrastructures in virtual mode — With their service, you draw in a Visio -like web-based program what infrastructure you want, how would you like to connect it, and such and then click on “build” … Just in a minutes later, all of your servers are created dynamically in the background… If you need more servers, you simply add to the visio-like diagram and they are added… —<\/p>\n

We are no affiliated \/ associated with this company… but I really think \/ believe this is the future of IT infrastructures…<\/p>\n

With Google, Yahoo, Microsoft (and now Amazon.com) building monster (500,000+ servers) data center infrastructures of grid-based computing to offer above-mentioned services– you can see we are not too far from being there… —- Now imaging an organization build on a virtual infrastructure, with application virtualization all the way to the desktop… now that is powerful –<\/p>\n

How does this affect the landscape of our future?<\/p>\n

As more and more of the IT services get commoditized and virtualized<\/b>, less technical folks will be needed on-site, and but the need for good processes<\/b> and people <\/b>trained in technology – business alignment along with managing demand<\/b> are the key to future IT departments…<\/p>\n
