Windows 7 Has Officially reached end of support. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

January 14, 2020, marks the official end of support for Windows 7 (and Windows 2018 R2).  <\/span>Unless you are a business that pays for extended support (aka security updates for a year), Microsoft will no longer be offering updates or security fixes for the old operating system, and the last patch for it will be released today.        More info:  \n Farewell Windows 7 and Thank you!<\/a>  \n <\/p>\n

Patch Tuesday: Critical Vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems <\/strong><\/p>\n

On January 14, 2020, Microsoft released software fixes to address 49 vulnerabilities as part of their monthly Patch Tuesday announcement. Among the vulnerabilities patched were critical weaknesses in Windows CryptoAPI, Windows Remote Desktop Gateway (RD Gateway), and Windows Remote Desktop Client.  Affected devices include machines running 32- or 64-bit Windows 10 operating systems, Windows 7 as well as Windows Server versions 2012, 2016 and 2019.    \n More info here<\/a>\n <\/p>\n

SCCM Co-Management no more!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

SCCM 1902 update rollup introduced a change in the tool\u2019s co-management and coexistence compatibility capability where  if an SCCM-managed device is enrolled into an MDM server other than Intune (i.e., Workspace ONE and any other third-parties), the SCCM agent reverts to a read-only mode which essentially  killed a  number of third-party co-management (or coexistence in Microsoft\u2019s terms) scenarios. According to Microsoft this was done to avoid potential conflicts device management conflicts.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Office 2010 Extended Support Ending<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Office 2010 support is now in the last 9-months of its 10-year lifecycle, Microsoft is messaging for customers to migrate to its newer Office 365 ProPlus. Office 365 ProPlus, which comes with most enterprise plans, includes the “full versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, Access, and Skype for Business installed on your client computers”. It also allows people to install Office on up to five devices, be they PCs, Macs, or mobile devices.<\/p>\n

The Risk of Not Keeping Up with Windows 10<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the past few months , we have encountered several customers that did not realize they were not getting quality updates on end-of-life versions and needed help understanding\u2026     One customer had over 1,200 devices on Windows 10 Pro v1607 still.<\/p>\n
