\"SanFrancisco1\"<\/a>I have been flying to San Francisco, CA for work for many years now, and it is one of those cities in which I always learn something new.\u00a0\u00a0The last couple of times have been no different.<\/p>\n

Side note:\u00a0\u00a0 There is an old guideline in advertising\/marketing, that I read years ago, which said, you will not likely buy a product unless you hear positive things (including recommendations) at least nine times)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 —\u00a0 Well, in this particular case,\u00a0 this is me!<\/p>\n

I have heard about Lyft a number of times in\u00a0 the startup news, CNBC, Podcasts and other places,\u00a0 but the \u201c9th\u201d time (and big thanks )go to a friend of mine (Sean) for providing the final recommendation that made me go ahead and actually try the service..<\/p>\n

I was finished with my business lunch, and was heading to my hotel across town\u2026\u00a0 Choices include: Taxi, Bart, walk\u2026\u00a0\u00a0 I was too far to walk, but too close for Bart\u00a0 (and going underground.\u00a0 I though of taking a Taxi, but the previous night, the Taxi driver game me a bit of a hassle for using a credit card for a $9 tab\u2026\u00a0\u00a0 Then, I remember Sean\u2019s experience with Lyft\u2026\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I looked for the app in my Android phone, install the application, enter my info \u2013 including credit card.. Within 2 minutes, it showed me the 4 drivers that were near me\u2026 I hit the \u201cRequest a Lyft\u201d thinking that it will prompt for for something, but instead it showed a picture of a driver (Mekonen)\u00a0 has accepted, and is 2 minutes away.\u00a0\u00a0 YIKES (I said) I have to pay and get outside..\u00a0\u00a0 exactly 2 minutes after there was a text in my phone: :<\/p>\n

Your Lyft driver, Mekonen, is here! (He is in a gray Toyota Yaris.)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just finished paying and a call comes in from Mekonen, explaining where he is parked\u2026 Told him I was settling my bill, and I will be right outside\u2026 8\u00a0 minutes later\u00a0 (slow waiter) I was in his car heading to my hotel across town.<\/p>\n

I explained to him that it was my first time, and asked him a number of question (of course!)\u2026\u00a0 17 minutes later we arrived to my hotel\u2026 Very nice guy!!\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0 He told me everything will be taking care of, not to worry about payment, and we fist bump.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He drove off..\u00a0\u00a0 1 minute later I checked my app and there was a screen in which it asked me to approve the charges ($14.00)\u00a0 and to rate\u00a0\u00a0 (1-5 stars) the driver.<\/p>\n

I have used the service 8 \u2013 10\u00a0 more time during my last couple of visits \u2026 Every single time the same experience:<\/p>\n
