I am in route home, at 30,000 feet\u00a0 or moving at 600 miles an hour, and I am writing this article while online on a \u201cfairly high-speed\u201d connection to the Internet while watching the news on DirectTV —\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What can be said?<\/p>\n

We have come a LONG way from the times in which I was running my BBS with a bank of 12 24kbps modems out of my house\u2026<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There are at least 6 people around me that have the laptops on and are connected.\u00a0 Who knows how many others are\u00a0 in the full plane\u00a0 — Most of them are doing email\u00a0 – I went directly to my blog. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The service is provided by gogoinflight.com<\/a> and they just happened to give first-timers a one time free card to try it out. Once I got connected (it took me a couple of times) it was great – the speed was very reasonable – much more that I expected.<\/p>\n

I just read\u00a0 in the latest pctoday magazine<\/a> (very low tech I know)\u00a0 that Google is now offering free Internet access at most USA airports until January 15\u00a0 as marketing give away \u2013<\/p>\n
