 {"id":179,"date":"2009-05-12T20:12:15","date_gmt":"2009-05-13T03:12:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/infraops.wordpress.com\/?p=179"},"modified":"2021-01-29T23:05:50","modified_gmt":"2021-01-30T06:05:50","slug":"technology_wave_coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/technology_wave_coming\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology Wave comming in late 2009 \/ early 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Office 2010 is finally \u00a0coming out for air now &#8211; check out the newly released \u00a0<a title=\"Office 2010 Blog\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100506023345\/http:\/\/blogs.technet.com:80\/office2010\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Office 2010 Official Blog\u00a0<\/a>site &#8211; \u00a0 This announcement prompted me to do a bit of a quick online check as to what&#8217;s ahead in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Several new versions of Microsoft \u00a0software are currently in beta mode, release \u00a0release Candidate (RC) or Release to Manufacture (RTM) \u00a0state. \u00a0 Even though there is no &#8220;guarantee&#8221; they will come out \u00a0by years&#8217; end, there is always a chance, and given Microsoft&#8217;s drive, I think there is a good chance \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a side note, \u00a0 I must say this time around has been impressively solid betas and RCs! &#8211; \u00a0( Kudos out there &#8211; you know who you are.)<\/p>\n<p>Just to mention a few:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Window 7 (RC state) \u00a0 \u00a0&#8211;\n<ul>\n<li>Who does not know about this one ? Dare to raise your hand!\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Exchange 2010 ( now in beta)\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Interest to note : it is all about web services!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>SharePoint 2010 ( now in beta)\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>No more &#8220;Office&#8221; in \u00a0SharePoint .\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"SharePoint Blog\" href=\"http:\/\/tr.im\/lcgn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Officially<\/a> the product has been rename to \u00a0Microsoft SharePoint 2010 \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Office Web Applications (not to be confusued with OWA) (coming soon)\n<ul>\n<li>We will be able to create, edit and collaborate on Office documents through a browser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Windows 2008 \u00a0Service Pack 2 (in RTM )\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Also Vista SP2 is in Beta<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>MDT 2010 (in Beta);\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>System Center \u00a0family:\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Config Manager \u00a0R2<\/li>\n<li>Operation manager R2\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Virtual Machine Manager R2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Silverlight 3, Live upgrades (SkyDrive) , and &#8230;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>many others which I am sure I am missing (Feel free to list below!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Microsoft has been busy! &#8211; \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>J<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Office 2010 is finally \u00a0coming out for air now &#8211; check out the newly released \u00a0Office 2010 Official Blog\u00a0site &#8211; \u00a0 This announcement prompted me to do a bit of a quick online check as to what&#8217;s ahead in the near future.
