 {"id":2276,"date":"2014-10-16T07:26:35","date_gmt":"2014-10-16T07:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/?p=2276"},"modified":"2026-01-22T10:34:46","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T17:34:46","slug":"traveling-circus-annoying-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/traveling-circus-annoying-things\/","title":{"rendered":"Traveling Circus: Annoying Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are many things that can be challenging when you travel, but when you travel as much as I do, there are a couple that can really be annoying.\u00a0 They are not\u00a0 super important, nor they are earth shattering, but somehow they get to me..<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Cost of a water bottle =\u00a0 $4.98 in some airports!<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul>\n<li>I get it &#8230; You have a captive audience, so why not charge as much as you can?<br \/>\n<strong>Having said this, there should be a law against this one!<\/strong><br \/>\nIsn&#8217;t that robbery?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Water is a necessity while traveling to stay hydrated and in good shape.\u00a0\u00a0 If the law does not allow you to bring in water bottles into the airport,\u00a0 then one should not pay 400-500% markup for\u00a0 this basic necessity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Airport Internet Access &#8211; &#8220;US$: 4.98 per month for one month&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>I laugh so hard when I see this&#8230; Most airports provide free WiFi access.\u00a0\u00a0 Some airports limit to free one session to 30 &#8211;\u00a0 60 minutes depending on where you are..<br \/>\nLately, I have been at several airports where you see this advertisement from BoingBoing:<a href=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/WifiAccess4.95for-onemonth1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2277\" src=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/WifiAccess4.95for-onemonth1-300x67.png\" alt=\"WifiAccess4.95for onemonth1\" width=\"384\" height=\"86\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/WifiAccess4.95for-onemonth1-300x67.png 300w, https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/WifiAccess4.95for-onemonth1.png 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 384px) 100vw, 384px\" \/><\/a><strong>Is it truly\u00a0 a &#8220;$4.95 per month&#8221; offer \u00a0 when it is only one month offer?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>TSA Line &#8211; &#8220;Do NOT need to take your laptop \/ shoes off!&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>People!!\u00a0 There are signs, sometimes videos AND people telling you NOT to do it&#8230;. So why do you?In the past only TSA pre-approved passengers can go through this lanes, but lately I have noticed many first timers that somehow got &#8220;upgraded&#8221; , and had no idea as to what they had to do&#8230;\n<p><strong>Is this a marketing move to let people try it and hopefully they will sign up?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Yes &#8212; You read in between the lines&#8230;.
