\"airplane-1and2\"<\/a>I have noticed that the airlines I travel in,\u00a0 there has progressively been a bit less leg space, and the seats were switched to the new \u201cthin\u201d style ones..\u00a0\u00a0 I have known for a while that this was a trend, and it was happening, but did not think much of it until this week..<\/p>\n

The first time I saw this, was in 2012\u00a0 there was an Time Magazine article: \u201cSit Tight\u201d<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 telling about the smaller\/thinner seat was coming\u2026 \u00a0In 2013, there was a WSJ\u00a0 Article: Incredibly Shrinking Seat\u201d<\/a> noting that the seat-width\u00a0 was being reduced from 18 to 17 inches, which is smaller than a stadium seat!.. \u00a0In a\u00a0March 2014 WSJ article:\u00a0“Why This Plane Seat Is the Most Profitable”<\/a> \u00a0 showed\u00a0a pretty cool comparison of airline seats.<\/p>\n

In a new article last Friday,\u00a0 the WSJ<\/a>\u00a0 noted that they are not only using the \u201cthin-seats\u201d but also reducing the leg space by 2 inches and removed a bathroom,\u00a0 in order to fit 8 \u2013 20 more passengers depending on the aircraft type\u2026\u00a0 Some of the graphics\u00a0 in these articles tell the story:<\/p>\n

This past week I spent well over 12 hours on flights (eight flights) , four of\u00a0 which were over 4 hours. I have was upgraded once, and travelled 2 flights in middle seats.\u00a0 It was hard.<\/p>\n

Even though some of the planes have upgraded with electric plugs and WiFi access, normal people can not open the laptop to work comfortably. \u00a0 We got to get some of the airline executives travelling in COACH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
