 {"id":27770,"date":"2021-02-05T20:12:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-06T03:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/moderneuc.com\/?p=27770"},"modified":"2026-02-18T13:02:21","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T20:02:21","slug":"microsoft-cloud-pc-coming-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/microsoft-cloud-pc-coming-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Cloud PC coming soon?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Although Device as a Service (DaaS), PC as a Service (PCaaS), virtual desktop as a service and cloud-based desktops are not new to the industry, there has been a lot of talk about a potential service in this realm to be provided by Microsoft as part of their Microsoft 365 service offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in the July 2020,  there <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/in\/news\/microsoft-develops-cloud-pc-as-a-service\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/in\/news\/microsoft-develops-cloud-pc-as-a-service\" target=\"_blank\">was a bit of a talk about the a new service offering<\/a>, M<strong>icrosoft<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Cloud<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>PC<\/strong>,  built on top of Windows Virtual Desktop to delivering Desktop as a Service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a deleted LinkedIn job posting at the time, asking for a Program Manager for its Cloud PC team Microsoft read something like this: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Microsoft Cloud PC is a strategic, new offering that is built on top of Windows Virtual Desktop to delivering Desktop as a Service.\u00a0 and is expected to be a \u201cMicrosoft 365-powered experience\u201d that will be managed by Microsoft and sold for a fixed per-user price.  At its core,\u00a0<strong>Cloud<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>PC<\/strong>\u00a0provides business customers a modern, elastic,\u00a0<strong>cloud<\/strong>-based Windows experience and will allow organizations to stay current in a more simplistic and scalable manner&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to industry analyst, Mary Jo Foley,  Microsoft intends to roll out its Microsoft Cloud PC in Spring 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then in November 2020, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/winbuzzer.com\/2020\/11\/05\/leak-microsoft-cloud-pc-virtualized-windows-10-service-to-have-three-subscriptions-tiers-xcxwbn\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/winbuzzer.com\/2020\/11\/05\/leak-microsoft-cloud-pc-virtualized-windows-10-service-to-have-three-subscriptions-tiers-xcxwbn\/\" target=\"_blank\">WinBuzzer reported <\/a>that the Microsoft Cloud PC will likely have three subscriptions tiers based on cores, memory and disk space configurations: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Medium tier: 2&nbsp;vCPUs, 4GB of RAM, and 96GB of SSD storage.<\/li><li>Heavy tier: 2 vCPUs, 8GB of RAM, and 96GB of SSD storage.<\/li><li>Advanced tier: 3&nbsp;vCPUs, 8GB of RAM, and 40GB of SSD storage.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forward to 2021 &#8211; <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2021\/01\/03\/microsoft-document-confirms-windows-10-cloud-pc-upgrade\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2021\/01\/03\/microsoft-document-confirms-windows-10-cloud-pc-upgrade\/\" target=\"_blank\">Windows Latest January 3 blog post<\/a> states based on a support document they have confirmed  that: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Windows 10 Cloud PC is expected to drop sometime between March and June 2021, and new exciting details surrounding the service have now been leaked online.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-29.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27774\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I checked the subdomain <a href=\"https:\/\/cloudpc.microsoft.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/cloudpc.microsoft.com<\/a> today I got this: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/MicrosoftCloudPCDomain20200208.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27775\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I am sure Microsoft will be aiming the service to enterprise customer, it is believed to ship with Windows 10X.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft has been quiet about this topic, but who knows &#8211; the now digital experience ( aka virtual ) <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/myignite.microsoft.com\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/myignite.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft Ignite 2021<\/a>  is coming up&#8230;.
