In addition, version 1803 (enterprise, Education IoT Enterprise), version 1809 (Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise) and Server 1909  (Datacenter and Enterprise) have also been officially retired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buried at the end of a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windowsexperience\/2021\/05\/18\/how-to-get-the-windows-10-may-2021-update\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windowsexperience\/2021\/05\/18\/how-to-get-the-windows-10-may-2021-update\/\" target=\"_blank\">May 18 Microsoft blog post titled How to get the Windows 10 Update<\/a>,  Microsoft  officially and quietly stated that Windows 10X will not be released as a separate variant, but instead will be incorporating all of the \u201clearnings and features\u201d into its current products <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Following a year-long exploration and engaging in conversations with customers, we realized that the technology of Windows 10X could be useful in more ways and serve more customers than we originally imagined. We concluded that the 10X technology shouldn\u2019t just be confined to a subset of customers.&nbsp;)&nbsp;<\/p><cite>https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windowsexperience\/2021\/05\/18\/how-to-get-the-windows-10-may-2021-update\/<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the May 25 keynote speech at Microsoft Build virtual conference, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/05\/25\/microsoft-build-nadella-teases-windows-update-teams-azure-improved.html\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/05\/25\/microsoft-build-nadella-teases-windows-update-teams-azure-improved.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Microsoft CEO teased the audience<\/a>  with  the statement: \u201cone of the most significant updates of Windows of the past decade\u201d&nbsp;was coming soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following week, on June 1, Microsoft officially announced that it will unveil \u201cthe next generation of Windows\u201d on June 24 and posted links to the event on that day. Both Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and chief product officer Panos Panay will be presenting&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/event\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/event\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">at the Windows event<\/a>. Microsoft\u2019s Windows event will start at 11AM ET \/ 8AM PT on June 24th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 7<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thurrott.com\/cloud\/251052\/microsoft-renames-windows-virtual-desktop-to-azure-virtual-desktop\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.thurrott.com\/cloud\/251052\/microsoft-renames-windows-virtual-desktop-to-azure-virtual-desktop\" target=\"_blank\"> Microsoft announces<\/a> the renaming of Windows Virtual Desktop to Azure Virtual Desktop<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Update 6\/14\/2021:   Microsoft updated its M<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/lifecycle\/products\/windows-10-home-and-pro\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/lifecycle\/products\/windows-10-home-and-pro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">icrosoft Support Update page<\/a> to indicate that it will end support for current Windows 10 OS on October 14th 2025.   <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/microsoft-windows-10-end-of-support-date-134043024.html\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/microsoft-windows-10-end-of-support-date-134043024.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think it is fair to say that this is very &#8211; VERY &#8211; different than any other Windows OS launch than in the past.
