This weekend I folded ModernEUC.com into Jorgep.com — I have been thinking about doing this for a while and combining the two sites, but, frankly, I have been lazy in actually pulling the trigger to do it, as it is a lot of work to do and not loose the data \/ links and such. Although both of these sites are running WordPress platform, they are in two different hosting companies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have done this a number of times over the year, but it has always been over the end of a website ( product or informational one that I had – At some point, many years ago, I had over 40 different sites on different topics I was running. This time is a bit different, as ModernEUC.com is a very well visited site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary reasons, at least in my mind, make sense: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the last few years, I have been writing a lot more articles on ModernEUC.com, and a lot less on my personal blog. It is not easy ( Kudos to those who do it!) to keep content going. I never wanted to hire anyone to write for me, so with a couple of small collaborations and one or two guest posts, all of the content has been mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although I have done hosting migrations and site combinations before, it is always good to do it every few years to keep the site clean (spring cleaning). It is a lot of work, but I enjoy learning about the new tools and the process. Keeps me away from Netflix and Paramount+ \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Side note: Now when you type any of the old moderneuc.com URLs it gets automatically re-routed to jorgep.com and it adds the new ModernEUC sub-banner for the post or category… Pretty cool! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a thing I have been working for a while. It may be pretty obvious today, and you may say that I should have done this a long time ago. But with the context of time, things and strategies have changed a lot over the years. Having said this, it has always been difficult for my family, friends and followers to decide what and where to follow me for updates and things… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really want a single definitive place where all of my stuff is at. jorgep.com is where I have posted the most over the years (Since 2007 actually!) but as I mentioned, the focus over the past few years has been on moderneuc.com and doodlingjorge.com which I still need to think about folding into jorgep.com — Not 100% sure yet on that one… <\/p>\n\n\n\n
