{"id":40,"date":"2009-05-30T05:06:37","date_gmt":"2009-05-30T05:06:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jorper98.wordpress.com\/?p=40"},"modified":"2014-09-16T06:47:24","modified_gmt":"2014-09-16T06:47:24","slug":"google-wave-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/google-wave-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Wave News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The IT industry is all about change.\u00a0 Change to make thing better, most efficient, response faster,\u00a0while still reducing cost&#8230;\u00a0 At least\u00a0in theory.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In the past couple of years, there has been a\u00a0significant transformation occurring.\u00a0\u00a0 The move to Cloud Computing has been slowly transforming everything &#8211; and I mean *everything*.\u00a0 from the way we look at hardware \/ software to the services needed to support them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Back in March 2007 my blog &#8220;<a title=\"jorper98 Blog\" href=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/virtualized-infrastructures\/\">Virtualized Infrastructures<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0 I talked about some of these changes which are now real mainstream products: Amazon AWS, Windows Azure, GoogleApps\/Gears.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, during the Google I\/O Conference keynote\u00a0, Google demonstrated (literally) the vision they are heading towards, and they have called it &#8211; very appropriately &#8211; <a title=\"google wave\" href=\"http:\/\/wave.google.com\" target=\"_blank\">Google Wave<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It has been a\u00a0 long time &#8211; Application Virtualizaton\u00a0(SoftGrid back in 2004)\u00a0 was the last time &#8211;\u00a0 since I have been so excited about how can we use technology to truly help the way we interact and communicate.<\/p>\n<p>By the buzz around the web &#8211; I am not the only one that is as excited about this&#8230;\u00a0 Lots of tweets came through overnight and all day Friday.\u00a0\u00a0 To mention a few you can read more about this at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From my teammates\u00a0at \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/infraops\" target=\"_blank\">InfraOps<\/a>:<em><br \/>\nCheck this out <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/wave.google.com\/\"><em>http:\/\/wave.google.com\/<\/em><\/a><em> &#8211; I predict this will either revolutionize email\/communications or spawn a host of wannabes!;\u00a0&#8230;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2009\/05\/28\/google-wave-drips-with-ambition-can-it-fulfill-googles-grand-web-vision\/\" target=\"_blank\">Techcrunch&#8217;s Blog: A new Communication Platform <\/a><\/li>\n<li><del>Joe Wilcox&#8217; Blog: Will Google Wave be Microsoft&#8217;s Tsunami?
