Some details for those that want to understand if it fits your particular situation \/ use case:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Windows Autopilot v2<\/strong>, is a significant evolution of Microsoft&#8217;s device provisioning platform. It introduces a re-architected approach to streamline and modernize Windows device deployment, especially for cloud-first environments using Microsoft Intune and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s a breakdown of what\u2019s new and different in <strong>Autopilot v2<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 Script Execution<\/strong>: Scripts can run during provisioning, allowing advanced configurations before user login.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improved Reporting<\/strong>: Real-time status of deployments, app\/script success, and provisioning duration is available in Intune.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"requirements\"> Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Windows 11<\/strong>: Version 22H2 or later with KB5035942.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Microsoft Entra ID<\/strong>: Only Entra Join is supported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Device must not be pre-registered<\/strong> in Autopilot (v1) to avoid profile conflicts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator Glove)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some <strong>OOBE screens reappear<\/strong> (e.g., EULA, privacy settings) since the device isn\u2019t recognized as Autopilot-managed until after You<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Now<\/strong>: You can test Autopilot v2 in&nbsp;<strong>public preview<\/strong>&nbsp;for supported scenarios (e.g., Windows 365 Frontline).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Soon<\/strong>: Full GA is expected by&nbsp;<strong>November 2025<\/strong>, especially for shared device scenarios.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Later<\/strong>: Microsoft plans to add&nbsp;<strong>pre-provisioning<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>self-deploying modes<\/strong>, which are not yet available.<a>microsoft<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>not everyone should migrate to Autopilot v2 (Device Preparation)<\/strong>&nbsp;just yet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who Should Consider Migrating to Autopilot v2<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cloud-Only Organizations<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Using&nbsp;<strong>Microsoft Entra ID Join<\/strong>&nbsp;exclusively.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No dependency on on-premises Active Directory or Hybrid Join.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Modern Management with Intune<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fully invested in&nbsp;<strong>Microsoft Intune<\/strong>&nbsp;for device and app management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Want to simplify provisioning and reduce reliance on hardware hashes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Greenfield Deployments<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rolling out&nbsp;<strong>new devices<\/strong>&nbsp;that aren\u2019t already registered in Autopilot v1.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Want to take advantage of&nbsp;<strong>faster provisioning<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>real-time reporting<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PowerShell-Heavy Configurations<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Need to run&nbsp;<strong>custom scripts<\/strong>&nbsp;during provisioning (v2 supports this natively).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who Should&nbsp;<em>Not<\/em>&nbsp;Migrate Yet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Organizations Using Hybrid Join<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Autopilot v2&nbsp;<strong>does not support Hybrid Azure AD Join<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you rely on GPOs or on-prem domain join, stick with v1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Existing Autopilot v1 Workflows<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you\u2019ve already invested in&nbsp;<strong>pre-provisioning (White Glove)<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>self-deploying mode<\/strong>, these are&nbsp;<strong>not yet supported<\/strong>&nbsp;in v2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Devices Already Registered in Autopilot v1<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Devices with existing Autopilot profiles&nbsp;<strong>must be removed<\/strong>&nbsp;before using v2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This can be disruptive if not planned carefully.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strict OOBE
