 {"id":519548,"date":"2015-12-09T09:42:41","date_gmt":"2015-12-09T17:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/podcastlostinspace.talesofalexander.com\/?p=308"},"modified":"2026-03-24T14:51:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T21:51:25","slug":"308-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/308-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Porotos Granados"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"direction: ltr; border-width: 100%;\">\n<div style=\"direction: ltr; margin-top: 0in; margin-left: 0in; width: 6.9597in;\">\n<div style=\"direction: ltr; margin-top: 0in; margin-left: 0in; width: 6.9597in;\">\n<p>*For some reason I don&#8217;t have a picture of this&#8230; I&#8217;ll fix that ASAP*<\/p>\n<p>tsp = teaspoon<\/p>\n<p>Tbsp = Tablespoon<\/p>\n<p>lbs = Pounds<\/p>\n<p>Mince = chop into very small pieces<\/p>\n<p>Diced = You chop the thing into roughly square like shapes<\/p>\n<p>Cubed = Actually what it says, cut the ingredients into rough cubes, much bigger than diced<\/p>\n<p>Sliced = Cut into thin broad strips (usually circles)<\/p>\n<p>Chopped = to cut into small pieces with repeated blows<\/p>\n<p>Al Dente =\u00a0Pasta and\/or Vegetables, Rice or Beans that are cooked to be firm to the bite. \u2013 Another way to put it is that it\u2019s cooked but not fully cooked<\/p>\n<p>Simmer =\u00a0stay just below the boiling point while being heated. (small occasional bubble)<\/p>\n<p>Saute = cook with oil<\/p>\n<p>Fold = Mix the ingredients by scooping the bottom of the mix onto the top of the mix.<\/p>\n<p>Reserve = Hold on\/Don\u2019t discard. Usually a liquid that is normally considered waste.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"direction: ltr; border-width: 100%;\">\n<div style=\"direction: ltr; margin-top: 0in; margin-left: 0in; width: 6.9597in;\">\n<div style=\"direction: ltr; margin-top: 0in; margin-left: 0in; width: 6.9597in;\">\n<ol>\n<li>3 cup Beef broth<\/li>\n<li>1 cup Milk<\/li>\n<li>2 cup Frozen Corn<\/li>\n<li>1 heaped tsp of Pesto<\/li>\n<li>1 Red Onion &#8211; Chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp of salt<\/li>\n<li>12 ounce bag of butternut squash<\/li>\n<li>1 Can of Kidney or Navy Beans &#8211; Drained<\/li>\n<li>\u00a04 Sausage &#8211; Johnsonville Original Bratwurst (Real specific yes but its the favorite brand we&#8217;ve found)<\/li>\n<li>Penne or Bowtie\u00a0Pasta (Not spaghetti) &#8211; \u00a01 serving<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Necessary Equipment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Large Sauce Pan<\/li>\n<li>Blender<\/li>\n<li>Spatula<\/li>\n<li>Barbecue\/cast iron pan <strong>or<\/strong> frying pan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Barbecue or pan fry the Sausage, the taste is better if you barbecue or cast iron pan fry the whole Sausage but frying pan works\n<ul>\n<li>Sausage smokes a ton, be ready to run your stove fan or open a window<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Blend\u00a02 cups of Beef Broth, 1 cup of Milk, 1 cup of Frozen Corn and the Pesto in the blender. Blend it <strong>coarsely, <\/strong>you don&#8217;t need everything to be super finely blended.\n<ul>\n<li>Set aside<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the Saucepan, saute the Onion until slightly golden<\/li>\n<li>Add the remaining Broth (1 cup) and Corn (1cup) into the saucepan, Along with the salt, butternut squash and beans.<\/li>\n<li>Add the mixture from the blender<\/li>\n<li>Bring mixture to a boil for 15 mins\n<ul>\n<li><strong>DO NOT PUT A LID ON, EVERYTHING WILL BOIL OVER<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Stir Frequently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Slice and add the Sausage to the mix<\/li>\n<li>Let Simmer for about 10 more minutes\n<ul>\n<li>Stir Frequently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Add the noodles to the mix and let simmer for another 5 minutes or until pasta is cooked\n<ul>\n<li>Note:\u00a0Pasta thickens the mix, if you want it thinner add less pasta and if you want it thicker add more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Let sit for 5-10mins<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*For some reason I don&#8217;t have a picture of this&#8230;
