 {"id":602,"date":"2012-03-01T11:23:03","date_gmt":"2012-03-01T11:23:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.jorgep.com\/2012\/03\/01\/windows-8-consumer-preview-installed\/"},"modified":"2021-01-29T22:48:10","modified_gmt":"2021-01-30T05:48:10","slug":"windows-8-consumer-preview-installed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/windows-8-consumer-preview-installed\/","title":{"rendered":"Windows 8 Consumer Preview installed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With just the right amount of hype, Microsoft releases Windows 8 Consumer Preview.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/windows8images.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/jorgep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/windows8images.jpg?w=215\" alt=\"Image\" width=\"128\" height=\"128\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is far better than the developer&#8217;s release back in September 11, 2011 and you can tell they have been working fast and furious, keeping to a tight schedule. \u00a0 \u00a0Definitely good stuff.<\/p>\n<p>I installed it on one of my virtual machines, and it runs like a charm!<\/p>\n<p>Installation experience side notes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I had to download it twice, as the first time did not download completelly<\/li>\n<li>If you are installing on VMware Workstation 8 \u00a0and you get an &lt;Product Key&gt; error, then \u00a0 follow <a title=\"Windows cannot read the &lt;Product Key&gt; setting from the unattend answer file.\" href=\"http:\/\/social.msdn.microsoft.com\/Forums\/en-US\/windowsdeveloperpreviewgeneral\/thread\/9f6f5b7a-55f9-400f-ad59-c36ef72e41c6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this link<\/a> as to how to circumvent it.
