App-V will be in Windows 10 Core!
As one of the early users of the App-V ( originally named SoftGrid) this brings me back at least 10 years (if not more). The technology has improved tremendously over the past few years, but at its core remains the same: Application Virtualization – Applicaitons delivered and executed at the client in a bubble. 🙂 If you think about it it is just like containers!
I first heard about it on Windows Weekly Podcast: Episode:454 (Hosted by Leo Laporte, Mary Jo Foley, Paul Thurrott) and when I got to my hotel, I googled-it to found more info,
Couple of article I found on the subject were:
- App-V to be added to Windows 10 by Tim Mangan
- Brian Madden’s: App-V built-in to upcoming “Redstone” release of Windows 10
Overall, VERY EXCITING!
