Resources and Links

I  find it very helpful to find resource pages on other sites.. I learn so much from what others are doing, and have booked-mark many!    So here are a few of mine.

As I find things that *really* pop, I’ll add to it  and reference this page often.   Enjoy!

Blog post The following are the tools and sites I use on my daily/weekly activities:

  • Golden Standards (Who doesn't use them):
    • Microsoft Office 365 / OneDrive /  Skype 
  • Utilities
    • Synergy - For handling a single keyboard/ mouse between multiple computers I use
    • FastStone Capture - Free Screen Capture and Video Recorder.
  • Graphics Editing:
    • Paint.Net - is free image and photo editing software for PCs that run Windows.
    • As of late has been my prefer pure online tool for all kids of graphic work. It is amazing and there is nothing to install on the desktop. Simply Amazing!
  • Video Editing
  • Photo Collection Organization Tool and Catalog
    • Phototheca by Lunarship - Great tool to manage my digital photo collection, update the keywords and tags on the files, search photos and create virtual albums and much more. Definitely worth checking it out.
  • Individual Productivity:
    • FreeFileSync - free Open Source software that helps you synchronize files and  folders for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X
    • Open Live Writer - THANK YOU Microsoft for open-sourcing Live Writer!
    • VirtualBox - Free x86 virtual machine manager that runs on Windows, Linux, Mac and others..  (thank you Oracle! )
    • Notepad++ -  Free alternative to Notepad  text editor for use with Microsoft Windows.   Also a good source code editor
    • TaskAgent - TODO list that works on iOS and Mac using DropBox text-based files.    A live saver!
  • Team Collaboration / Productivity:
    • This depends on the team I am working with, but generally speaking:
  • For social media posting scheduling:
    • TweetDeck - Free from Twitter nice multi-account view (free!)
    • ContentStudio.Io - WOW! great tool and, different than many of the other ones, very affordable for hobby, small or starting business.
    • Postify -  Free for up to 5 accounts and 10 pending posts

As far as WordPress, I am a developer, so I like the ability to tincker with my sites.  I wrote a post specifically on this topic, which I continue to update.Check it out  at  WordPress Site Configuration.  Also  I have written many WordPress related  topics (tips, tools and resources)  and can be found here

Primarily resources I use for doing work that I can not, or have the time to do…

  • –  a global marketplace offering tasks and services online usually at $5. Highly recommended for low risk quick / short projects.
  •  -  connects you with freelance writers, programmers, and web designers around the world. Elance and oDesk merged to form Upwork.

I am constantly reading, (more accurately, listening -  - to books while I am on the road..   I track my latest reads at at GoodReads (look at the sidebar) and These are some of my all time favorites include:
