This ride was about 4 hours round trip – It is the first ride I follow someone. I later found out that the place we went to is called: East Buzzard Point Ride

The Route

This ride was led by a cabin neighbor of ours, Al, who has been doing and leading rides. he is a very nice, retired engineer that loves to ride.

I have to admin following him was great, but it took me out of my “slow-mode” comfort zone. We did not have radios, but he waited for me at *every* main fork in the road to make sure I was taking the ride side. It was 50 miles round trip,in fairly good forest roads so I had to push myself a little.

THE most impressive spot outside the lookout point was a section of the forest covered by ferns (yes ferns!) Never expected to see this here…

The views of Sedona at the lookout point were incredible – pictures just do not capture the real beauty of the place. You have to be there to appreciate it.

What impressed me the most was the silence of the canyons. So quiet! –

We had a warning light come up on Al’s RZR and he looked at the engine and found out that a cable had come loose. Like an experienced rider he looked at the issue, secured the cable and concluded is it not something critical and we shall continue.

As a rookie rider, it was cool to see for sure!

Very thankful to him!

He has so many other rides to show me too!
