This month’s highlighted items

Windows 10 v1809 released again November 13, 2018

After a long wait, Microsoft has resumed the roll out Windows 10  v1809 (October 2018 Update) starting  November 13. Originally released on Oct 2, 2018, Microsoft paused the roll out after issues were reported and confirmed a week later (October 9).  The good news is that the release date has been updated to November 13, 2018 which marks the start of the 30-month support lifecycle for the Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10, version 1809; and the 18-month support lifecycle for Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Pro for Workstation.

New Office Icons coming to Office 365

Last werk, Microsoft announced that new Office icons will be rolling out to across all platforms over the “next few months” starting with mobile and the web.  It has  been about 5 years (2013) since the their last update.  

Microsof Edge going Chromium

This piece of news came as a surprise to many!  And it is a very big deal!  —  Last week Microsoft officially announced that is moving Microsoft Edge from its EdgeHTMl rendering engine over to Chromium open-source project.   This is great news for developers  and users alike as will likely means  it will support Chrome extensions and Progressive Web Apps.   Microsoft’s blog post:     Microsoft Edge: Making the web better through more open source collaboration
