Hands-on AI learning, built with your school.
Students are already using AI. The real question is whether they’re learning to use it well. I work directly with your faculty, staff, and students to set up practical AI environments and projects, using the tools and equipment you already have, and I stay alongside your team until they’re confident running it themselves.
AI is in every classroom. Hands-on experience isn’t.
Most schools don’t need another presentation about AI. They need a safe, practical place to try it, and someone to help their people learn how.
- Students use AI tools every day, often without guidance on accuracy, sources, or responsible use.
- Faculty want to teach with AI but lack the time and a safe place to experiment.
- Budgets are tight, and large technology purchases are hard to justify before a pilot.
- Student data and privacy call for more care than consumer AI tools allow.
Ways I can build with your school.
Each offer is a focused, fixed-scope engagement where I work hands-on with your people. Start with the one that fits, or tell me what you have in mind.
Student AI Lab
Turn curiosity into capability.
Give students a hands-on place to explore, build, and learn with AI. I set up a practical pilot lab using free tools and equipment you may already have, then mentor faculty, staff, and student leaders so they can run it and grow it.
Best if: you want students learning AI by doing, without a large up-front investment.
- A working pilot lab set up with free tools
- A guided starter project tied to your learning goals
- Mentoring on testing AI output and responsible use
- Setup notes and a next-step plan for your team
Have something else in mind?
Every school is different. If you have a specific idea, such as an AI assistant for faculty handbooks and policies, a guided research workflow for a course, or a hands-on AI project for a club or program, let’s talk about what it would take.
Best if: you have a specific need that doesn’t fit a standard offer.
- Scoped around your goal
- Price agreed before work begins
- The same hands-on, mentoring approach

Every school engagement follows the same simple path.
Small, practical steps, with me working alongside your team at each one.
- 01
Free assessment
A conversation about your goals, students, equipment, and the people who will lead the work.
- 02
A focused pilot
We agree on a realistic starting scope, schedule, and project before any work begins.
- 03
Hands-on mentoring
I set things up with your team and work through real projects together, on-site or remote.
- 04
Handoff and next steps
Documentation, lessons learned, and a clear plan your team can continue on its own.
Practical AI, with the care schools need.
Hands-on doesn’t mean careless. Every engagement is built around your policies and your students.
Start with approved materials
Pilots begin with non-sensitive, approved content. We discuss data handling and permissions before anything goes live.
Teach judgment, not only tools
Students and staff learn to test AI output, recognize its limits, and decide where human review belongs.
Your policies come first
Local, free tools can give you more control over data. Your institution keeps the final say on access, use, and approvals.
What schools usually ask first.
Work directly with Jorge Pereira
I bring experience across technology consulting, AI adoption, local and hybrid AI, and hands-on development. I connect the technical setup with the people who will use it, so your team can learn from it and build on it.
Do we need a large budget to get started?
No. Engagements start with a focused pilot built on free tools and, where possible, equipment you already have. That lets you learn what works before making larger investments.
Is this only for computer science students?
No. Students across disciplines can take part, with activities matched to their starting point. Some of the most useful projects come from writing, research, business, and the sciences.
Who should be involved from our side?
It works best with an engaged faculty or program sponsor who will lead the work, plus an IT contact who can help with access and installation approvals.
Do you work on-site or remotely?
Both. Much of the mentoring works well remotely, and hands-on setup often benefits from time on-site. We agree on the mix during the free assessment, and any travel is agreed in advance.
How do we get started?
Book a free assessment. We’ll talk about your goals, your students, and what you already have, and I’ll recommend a realistic first step, with no obligation.
