Regarding Windows 10 availability:

September 2014 — Windows Technical Preview (WTP) for laptops and desktops
- Microsoft’s Windows Insider Program opened for feedback and suggestions
January 23, 2015 — Windows Technical Preview (WPT) release 1
March 3, 2015 — Windows Technical Preview (WPT) release 2
March 2, 2015 – MDT 2013 Update 1 Preview – (Lab only – Windows 10 LTI)
April 15, 2015 — Windows Technical Preview ends
June 2015 – Release to Manufacturing (unofficial)
July 2015 – Public Preview 1 (unofficial)
August 2015 – Public Preview 2 (unofficial)
October 2015 – General Availability (UNOFFICIAL)
